Obeying God in a World That Doesn’t
Faith lessons from Noah remind us that following God is not always popular, but it is always rewarding. Noah lived in a world filled with wickedness, violence, and disobedience. Who Was Noah?
Noah was a righteous man who walked faithfully with God during a time when the earth had become filled with sin and corruption.

“Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” (Genesis 6:8)
Because of Noah’s righteousness, God chose him to build an ark that would preserve his family and representatives of every living creature from the great flood.
Although Noah had never seen such a flood before, he trusted God’s word completely.
Noah Obeyed Without Question
God gave Noah detailed instructions on how to build the ark.
The task took many years and required enormous faith.
People likely mocked Noah for building such a massive vessel on dry land, yet he never abandoned God’s command.
The Bible simply says:
“Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.” (Genesis 6:22)
His obedience became an example for all generations.
God’s Covenant with Noah
After the flood, God made a covenant with Noah, promising never again to destroy the earth by flood.
As a sign of this covenant, God placed a rainbow in the sky.
The rainbow remains a reminder of God’s mercy, faithfulness, and enduring promises.
Faith Lessons from Noah
1. Obey God Even When Others Do Not
Noah remained faithful despite living among people who rejected God.
Christians are called to stand firm in faith regardless of public opinion.
“We must obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)
2. Trust God’s Word
Noah believed God’s warning long before the rain began.
Faith means trusting God before we see the outcome.
“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for.” (Hebrews 11:1)
3. Persevere in Doing Good
Building the ark required patience, determination, and perseverance.
Following Christ often requires the same commitment.
“Let us not grow weary of doing good.” (Galatians 6:9)
4. God Rewards Faithfulness
Because Noah remained faithful, God protected him and his family.
God never overlooks those who remain obedient to Him.
“The Lord watches over the way of the righteous.” (Psalm 1:6)
5. God’s Mercy Endures Forever
Even after judging the earth, God established a covenant of hope.
The rainbow reminds us that God’s mercy is greater than His judgment.
“His steadfast love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:1)

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Noah. Give us the courage to obey You even when it is difficult, the patience to persevere when others misunderstand us, and the faith to trust Your promises completely.
