The Wednesday Mass Readings for 5 August 2026 remind us that God’s love never ends. Even when His people wandered away, He promised to gather them again with compassion. In today’s Gospel, Jesus rewards the persistent faith of the Canaanite woman, showing that genuine faith opens the door to God’s mercy for everyone.

Reflection
God’s love is stronger than our failures. Through the prophet Jeremiah, He reminds us that His love is everlasting and His desire is always to restore His children.
The Gospel teaches another important lesson—never stop praying. The Canaanite woman faced silence, rejection, and discouragement, yet she refused to walk away. Instead, she humbled herself and continued trusting Jesus.
Many times our prayers seem unanswered, but today’s Gospel reminds us that silence is not rejection. God often strengthens our faith before revealing His blessings.
Faith is not measured by how quickly we receive answers but by our willingness to keep trusting God even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
